Massage Therapy FAQ
1. What should I expect during my first massage?
Your therapist will greet you at the door. You will have a short consultation to discuss your needs and anything you feel is relevant for your massage. Talk to your therapist about any goals, concerns, or areas you'd like to focus on.
Your therapist will then leave the room to allow you privacy while you get ready for your massage. You can undress to your comfort level then lie on the massage table under a blanket. Once you are ready and comfortable, the therapist will come back into the room and you can relax while the therapist works. During the massage, feel free to speak up if something doesn't feel right or you'd like adjustments—we’re here to make sure you're comfortable.
If you arrive very early for your appointment, please be patient, your therapist will be with you as soon as they are available.
2. Do I need to undress completely?
You should undress only to your comfort level. We usually recommend undressing down to your underpants, but it's your choice, you can leave your undergarments on during your massage, or you can go bare. You will always be draped with a blanket or towel, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered.
3. Will the massage be painful?
Massage may feel intense at times, especially if you're tight or sore, but it should never be painful. Always let your therapist know if anything feels uncomfortable.
4. How long is a typical massage session?
Most sessions last 60 minutes, but we offer massage from 30 minutes, up to 2 hours, depending on your needs. 60 minutes can go by surprisingly quickly, so 90 minutes is often the sweet spot for true relaxation.
